In 2007 we experienced a devastating ice storm that destroyed thousands of trees and left our city without power for up to 2 weeks. Here are some images of that event. From that event I was able to salvage some trees from the burn pile, and make some bowls.

#2017 – 30 is a maple natural edge hollow form. Measuring 6 1/4″ dia. x 3″ tall, it is $60.00 USD + S&H. f

#2017 – 366 is a sycamore bowl with a sunburst on the inside. It measures 13″ dia. x 2 1/2″ tall and is $100.00 USD + S&H.

#2017 – 287 is a heavily spalted maple plate that also has exceptional figure in the grain. Measuring 9″ dia. x 7/8″ tall it is $40.00 USD + S&H.tlb

#2017 – 556 is a large white oak bowl with a few unique attributes; wavy rim, voids and a swirled grain. Measuring 16 3/4″ dia. x 4 3/4″ tall it is $100.00 USD + S&H.

#2017 – 420 is a spalted red oak platter with dark streaking through half of the piece. The streaking was caused by an iron object embedded in the tree as it grew and the iron reacted with the tannins of the tree to leave the dark gray colour. #2018 – 422 is a red oak platter showing some sap wood at the lower edge, some spalting throughout and the dark iron oxide area near the upper edge of the piece. This measures 14″ x 1″ and is $80.00 USD + S&H.
